Due to the Murray Street Bridge Seismic Retrofit Project, Route 3A Inbound (Capitola Mall to Downtown) will operate on a detour starting March 24, 2025, until further notice. The 3A will continue on 7th Ave to Capitola Road, to Soquel Dr, to Seabright Ave, to Broadway returning to normal routing. Please be prepared for additional detours as the project progresses. Route 19 Summer Service (eff. 6/19/25): UCSC Loop trips will run every 30 minutes during peak hours. A shorter variant, 19B, will operate at the same 30-minute frequency, serving Bay Dr & High St at the base of campus. 19B will run from River Front Transit Center to Bay & High before returning as Route 18, with riders permitted to remain onboard. Bay & Seaside (inbound to downtown) Stop ID 1224 has been discontinued. Trip departure and arrival times have been adjusted along the route to accommodate this change.

Route 3A Summer Service Change (eff. 6/19/25): Due to upcoming construction and a full closure of the Murray St. Bridge, Route 3A will detour via Seabright Ave, Soquel Ave, Capitola Rd, and 7th Ave before resuming its regular route at East Cliff. It will no longer serve Seabright Ave south of Broadway. Three new stops will be added: 7th Ave (PG&E), 7th Ave & Bonnie, and 7th Ave & Harbor Beach Ct. Departure and arrival times have been adjusted along the route.

Route 73 Summer Service (eff. 6/19/25): Due to construction near the Park Ave interchange, Route 73 will continue the current detour via 41st Ave, Hwy 1, Bay Ave, Monterey Ave, and Park Ave before resuming its regular route on Soquel Dr to Watsonville.

SCHEDULE CHANGE

To standardize service between the two Santa Cruz – Watsonville routes, Routes 1 and 2 will run every 20 minutes for most of the daytime and evening (every 30 minutes in early morning and late night). Three evening trips will depart from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Cliff & Beach (Stop ID 1318), at 8:45pm, 9:45pm, and 10:45pm. Trip departure and arrival times have been adjusted along the route.

Route 3A – Capitola Mall/Live Oak via East Cliff

ROUTE CHANGE

Weekdays/Weekends: Due to construction on the Murray Street bridge (including a full closure of both directions in upcoming months), the route will not serve Seabright Ave south of Broadway in either direction. From Broadway, the route will go on Seabright Ave to Soquel Ave, Capitola Rd to 7th Ave, and 7th Ave to East Cliff where it will resume its regular route. ROUTE CHANGE SCHEDULE CHANGE

Weekdays/Weekends: UCSC loop trips will run at 30-minute peak frequency rather than 15 minutes. A variant of the route will run to Bay Dr & High St at the base of campus, also at 30-minute peak frequency. This shorter variant (noted as “18B” on headsigns) will run from River Front Transit Center to Bay & High, then return to River Front Transit Center as Route 19. Riders are permitted to stay onboard to ride Route 19. Similarly, Route 19 trips will start at River Front and end at Bay & High, then return as Route 18. Trip departure and arrival times have been adjusted along the route.

STOP CHANGES

Weekdays/Weekends The stops at 41st Ave & Soquel Dr and at Watsonville Hospital are no longer timepoints, but they will remain as regular stops. The following stops, added in Winter as a “detour” but not appearing on all online maps, will be formally added: Soquel Dr & Orchard (Stop ID 1828), Soquel Dr & Monterey Ave (Stop ID 1832), Soquel Dr & Lower Perimeter Rd (Sesnon House) (Stop ID 2722), Soquel Dr & Terrace Dr (Stop ID 2575), Soquel Dr & Porter Gulch Rd (Stop ID 1838), and Soquel Dr & Fairway Dr (Stop ID 1829).

Route 3A – Capitola Mall/Live Oak via East Cliff

STOP CHANGE

Weekdays/Weekends: River St South & Soquel Ave (Stop ID 2754 – River Front Transit Center Area 1) will not be served. Passengers may board at Front & Soquel Ave (Stop ID 2667 – River Front Area 3) or River (River/Front Garage) (Stop ID 1713).

Route 40 – Highway 1 – Davenport

Weekdays/Weekends: Toward Davenport, the route will continue to operate on the “detour” route started in Fall 2024: from Mission St to Swift St to Delaware Ave to Natural Bridges Dr, then back to Hwy 1. Highway 1 & Western Ave (Stop ID 2095) has been discontinued; the nearest outbound stop is Natural Bridges Dr & Mission (Stop ID 2716).

Weekdays: The 8:00am departure from River Front Transit Center will leave ten minutes earlier at 7:50am, the 12:55pm departure will leave an hour and ten minutes later at 2:05pm, and the 4:55pm departure will leave 25 minutes later at 5:20pm.

Route 78 – Ohlone/Watsonville Hospital

ROUTE CHANGE

Weekends: Westridge Dr will not be served. Going outbound to Freedom Centre, from Harkins Slough Road to Main St, the route will run on S. Green Valley Road and serve S. Green Valley Rd & Main (Stop ID 2721). Inbound to Watsonville Transit Center, S. Green Valley Rd & Main (Stop ID 2552) will be served.
